Poem (3) - Dancing shoes
~Dancing shoes~
Pretty shoes, not just boots
Do line my closet wall
At one point I wore them once
While dancing down a hall
My dress twirled about me
But it too found it's place
Among the hangers and mothballs
Not stuffed into a case
I want an excuse to pull them out
To float in them once more
Hardly has anything been required of them
Since I bought them at the store
Those shoes were bought to fit these feet
And they must be used quite soon
Because their shine won't leave my eyes
And my ears have caught a familiar tune
Pretty shoes, not just boots
Do line my closet wall
At one point I wore them once
While dancing down a hall
My dress twirled about me
But it too found it's place
Among the hangers and mothballs
Not stuffed into a case
I want an excuse to pull them out
To float in them once more
Hardly has anything been required of them
Since I bought them at the store
Those shoes were bought to fit these feet
And they must be used quite soon
Because their shine won't leave my eyes
And my ears have caught a familiar tune
