Poem (6) - The Farmboy's Trial
Old...written on my grandpa's farm when I was out playing in the fields. I love going to NY...
~The Farmboy's Trial~
The farmboy wandered alone through the field
Watching the sky
The knight strode along the double path
Brandishing his sword with a laugh
Spotting the foe infront of him
He lept forward with a grin
"Many a man have I slayed
That stood to far in my way."
The foe kept coming without care
He was not one to stand and stare
With a flick the sword flashed
And the foe was now d e a d at last
The knight continued on his way
There would be many more foe to slay
The farmboy skipped along the tractor marks
Holding his cat-tail by the fuzzy part
Seeing some Timothy hay in the rut
He lunged forward with a strut
"Many a man have I slayed
That stood to far in my way."
The blade of hay swished in the wind
Not seeing the horrible danger it was in
The farmboy lashed out with his 'sword'
The hay stood no chance against this warlord
On the lad continued down the field
Carring the cat-tail that he chose to wield
